Transition Your Home Decor from Spring to Summer

We’re all ready for some summer vibes and that includes transitioning our home décor to match how the season makes us feel – calm, easygoing, and fun!

It’s not difficult to switch your farmhouse décor from spring to summer. It’s as simple as changing out some accent pieces, bringing the outdoors in with summer florals, and incorporating the cheerful, bold colors of the season.

Here are some of our favorite ideas for summer décor using examples from our store.

Pops of Color

While farmhouse décor often focuses on neutrals, adding pops of color throughout your living space will complement those grays, browns, and whites and add a vibrancy that’s perfect for summer. Choose bright colors like yellow, teal, blue, pink, coral, green, and red. Find colorful accents that suit your personal style. If you like a little whimsy, we love these colorful gnomes.

Lemonade, Anyone?

Lemonade is a staple of summer. Who doesn’t enjoy relaxing on the porch with a tangy, refreshing lemonade on a hot, summer day? So, why not refresh your living space with lemon-themed décor? You could fill a dough bowl, container, or lantern with lemons and sit them on your kitchen counter for an instant summer update. Our store also has lemon-themed signs and accents – and add our Sugared Lemon soy candles or melts to any room for the scent of the season.

Americana Collection

As we prepare to celebrate Independence Day, give your home some July 4th spirit by adding red, white, and blue pieces from our Americana collection. From throw pillows to wall art, linens to metal buckets, this collection will add a patriotic flair to your décor. One of our favorite pieces is this weathered painted metal birdhouse that can hang from the loop on the top or from a hanger on the back. It’s perfect for your outdoor area or your indoor Fourth of July arrangement.

Wall Art Rotation

One easy way to transition your home décor from season to season is by rotating your wall art. For summer, hang a canvas showcasing bright colors or put up a sign or wall décor with a summer theme. Consider a sign that says “Fresh Strawberries” or the quintessential farmhouse windmill. We love these vintage canvas boat prints in wooden frames and this wood and metal butterfly.

Summer Florals

Brighten your home with the flowers of summer. Whether it’s a vase on your nightstand, a cute container in your entryway, or a pitcher or milk jug in your kitchen, a summer arrangement with your favorite faux floral stems and greenery will bring you joy all season long. Some common summer florals are petunias, hydrangeas, black-eyed susans, dahlias, lavender, coneflowers, gerbera daisies, zinnias, sunflowers, daisies, irises, peonies, and clematis like this gorgeous blue and purple variety.
